Digital services are increasingly central to everyday life. But widespread access does not mean that every user feels equally confident setting up an email account, moving years of messages, synchronising a calendar or configuring a new phone.
WAYSCloud is therefore launching Meil Help, a free evening phone guidance service for private individuals using — or considering using — Meil.
The initiative is designed around a simple principle: if we build digital services, we also have a responsibility to make them accessible to people who do not spend their lives working with technology.
Meil Help is staffed Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 21:00, initially with support available in Norwegian and English.
Users can get practical, step-by-step guidance with:
creating and getting started with a Meil account
migrating email from another provider
configuring email on phones, tablets, PCs and Macs
calendars and contact synchronisation
the Meil desktop application
video calls and meetings
general everyday digital questions
troubleshooting when something simply does not work as expected
There is deliberately no requirement to know the right technical terminology before calling.
“The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. You do not need to know the technical terms or exactly what is wrong — we will take it step by step together.”
Nicholas Thoresen, Customer Success Specialist at WAYSCloud
Human support alongside self-service
Meil already provides documentation and self-service guidance, but WAYSCloud believes documentation alone cannot solve every accessibility challenge.
For some users, speaking to a person is simply more effective than navigating another knowledge base, chatbot or troubleshooting guide.
The service is therefore intended as a low-threshold complement to Meil's existing support and documentation.
Meil Help is free for private individuals. Normal telephone charges from the caller's operator may apply.
Local access in the Nordic markets
To make the service easier to use, WAYSCloud has established local telephone numbers for each of Meil's Nordic markets.
Users can find the service and their local number here:
Norway: meil.no/meil-hjelpen/
Sweden: meil.nu/meil-hjelpen/
Denmark: meil.dk/meil-hjelpen/
European / English: onmeil.eu/meil-hjelpen/
The European page lists all available local numbers.
Digital inclusion is also a product responsibility
Meil has evolved from an email service into a broader personal productivity environment combining email, calendars, contacts, files, documents, desktop applications and video meetings.
That expansion makes usability and accessibility increasingly important.
Digital inclusion is often discussed in terms of internet access. In highly digitalised societies, however, the challenge is increasingly about whether people can use digital tools confidently and independently.
WAYSCloud believes technology companies have a role to play in reducing that gap — not only through interface design, but through access to real human assistance when users need it.
Meil Help is a small but practical part of that responsibility.
Privacy and security remain part of the guidance
Users are never asked to disclose passwords, BankID passwords, BankID codes or other secret authentication information during a Meil Help call.
When sensitive information needs to be entered as part of a setup process, users enter it themselves on their own device.
This allows the service to provide hands-on guidance without compromising the security principles behind the Meil platform.
About Meil
Meil is developed and operated by WAYSCloud as a European alternative for personal and business communication and productivity.
The platform includes email, calendars, contacts, file storage, collaborative documents, desktop applications and video meetings, with a focus on open standards, privacy and reducing dependency on proprietary platform ecosystems.
