WAYSCloud launches Managed Kubernetes across its European cloud platform

WAYSCloud has launched Managed Kubernetes in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen, marking the next step in the company’s expansion of its European cloud platform.

The new service is designed for businesses, development teams and platform engineering organisations that need scalable Kubernetes infrastructure with integrated networking, load balancing, storage, backup, recovery and lifecycle management.

WAYSCloud operates the Kubernetes control plane and underlying infrastructure, while customers retain cluster-admin access and full control over their Kubernetes environments.

The launch follows strong customer demand for Kubernetes and extends WAYSCloud’s infrastructure portfolio with a service built for both application teams and larger automated platform environments.

Enterprise capacity from launch

Managed Kubernetes is available in Development and highly available Production configurations.

A single Production cluster can currently scale to 120 worker nodes, providing up to 480 vCPU and 1.92 TB RAM with the node profiles available today.

Clusters can use multiple node pools with different compute profiles, labels and taints, allowing workloads with different performance and scheduling requirements to run within the same Kubernetes environment.

Each cluster receives its own private network, and worker nodes are deployed without public IP addresses. Outbound traffic is handled through a dedicated gateway, while public services can be exposed through standard Kubernetes LoadBalancer resources with the corresponding cloud infrastructure handled by WAYSCloud.

Persistent workloads are supported through integrated block storage, and Kubernetes API access can be restricted to trusted network ranges through per-cluster CIDR controls.

Fully integrated management and automation

A central part of the launch is the integration of Kubernetes into the wider WAYSCloud management platform.

Customers can manage clusters through the WAYSCloud portal, REST API, command-line interface and Python SDK.

The same interfaces cover the full cluster lifecycle, including provisioning, node-pool management, scaling, kubeconfig, API access control, public IP management, reverse DNS, backup, restore, upgrades and deletion.

This enables enterprises and platform teams to integrate WAYSCloud Kubernetes directly into CI/CD pipelines, internal developer platforms and other automated infrastructure workflows rather than relying solely on manual administration through a cloud portal.

WAYSCloud supports both scheduled and on-demand Kubernetes backups, together with restore capabilities including namespace-scoped recovery.

Cluster provisioning, networking, load balancing, persistent storage, backup, restore, scaling, upgrades and complete resource cleanup have all been included in the production qualification process.

Typical cluster provisioning currently completes in approximately 10–20 minutes, depending on configuration.

Current Kubernetes platform

Kubernetes 1.35 is the default version for new clusters. Kubernetes 1.34 remains available as a transition version until 15 October 2026.

WAYSCloud has also validated an upgrade from Kubernetes 1.34 to 1.35 on a running Production HA environment while workloads, load balancing and persistent storage remained operational.

New Kubernetes versions will continue to be qualified as they become available across the infrastructure platform.

Part of WAYSCloud’s European expansion

Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen are the first regions in the Managed Kubernetes rollout.

Additional European regions will follow as WAYSCloud continues to expand its cloud platform across Europe.

The objective is to provide customers with a consistent operating model across regions, using the same management interfaces, APIs and automation capabilities regardless of where workloads are deployed.

For enterprises, this provides a foundation for operating Kubernetes infrastructure across European regions without changing the underlying management model.

For platform engineering teams, it makes WAYSCloud infrastructure available as part of their own automation and orchestration layer.

WAYSCloud Managed Kubernetes is available now in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
